What can you expect to see at Grace Festivals :
Each year at Grace Festivals there are three main streams taking place throughout the weekend. The Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and the Family / Community Programme. Each of these streams will be present in some way at all of the Grace Festivals sites, and if you choose to come and spend the day with us then you should find plenty of ways in which you can engage with all three.
The Family / Community Programme
The main focus of the Family / Community Programme this year will be the Abbey Park. As in previous years, we will be offering free BBQ from 12 - 3pm on the Saturday and the Monday, and this year, we are hoping to run a range of activities for children and families, including individual and communal art projects, workshops, circus skills, face painting, street dance, and much more.
The Visual Arts Programme
Although the obvious home of our Visual Arts stream is in the Gallery Sites, don't be surprised if this year's exhibitors have managed to invade some of the performance spaces and community activities as well. Keep an eye out for unexpected installations and hidden visual cues in places you would least expect them.
The Performing Arts Programme
This year, we are bringing together the most eclectic and exciting mix of performers yet to appear at Grace Festivals. With music ranging from acoustic roots to punk, vocal harmony singing to Ska, and new theatre and dance groups taking their place in the programme, there's bound to be something to surprise and delight.
The Interlude
Over the years, the Grace Festivals family has grown to include some of the most influential and innovative voices in the arena of Creativity and Christian Faith. After the success of our Art & Faith discussions in past years, in 2010 we will be holding a series of talks and debates covering some of the issues which are raised by the work of our contributors.
The Interlude will take place each evening between the events of the afternoon, and the evening performances. Chaired and led by contributors from this year's festival programme, we hope these events will give visitors to Grace an opportunity to engage with the contemporary issues of Faith and Creativity.
ONEYEAR
The Nations Foundation's first major release "ONEYEAR" seeks to give an accurate account of the exceptional lifestyles of many of the world's best snowboarders. Traveling to 5 continents with one of the most talented snowboard lineups ever, including Dave Downing, Andy Finch, Matt Hammer, Tommy Czeschin, Kelly Clark, Janna Meyen, JJ Johnson, Eric Willet, we see them encounter more than just epic powder lines and huge jumps.
Throughout this year-long adventure we find out what really matters and makes sense in the hearts of our favorite pros. What drives them, what breaks them, and where they find stability in a life of constant change and challenge. From Lake Tahoe to South Korea, Utah to Argentina, Mt. Baker to Switzerland, find out how much can really happen in ONEYEAR.
Grace Festivals are pleased to be able to host one of the first ONEYEAR movie events in the UK, alongside Snowboarders & Skiers for Christ UK. We will be hosting two, hour long presentations of the movie on both Saturday and Monday afternoons.
See you there!
