I am a willow artist, drawing inspiration from natural raw materials such as leaves, twigs, fibres, mud, seed pods, feathers, seaweed and fungi. I aim to open people's eyes to nature's beauty and bounty which tend to be increasingly overlooked in this and consumerist busy world. I also run a lot of workshops in schools, galleries and at festivals... where I encourage experimentation of materials other than willow, including garden prunings, from a range of plants, thus introducing texture and colour and showing that not everything needs to be bought from a shop. I trained as a horticulturist and the different strands of my life complement each other: natural sculpture, garden design and gardening. These skills lend themselves well to school projects such as living willow structures, edible mazes, sensory gardens, wildlife gardening?
