"Marine Landscape" - Installation at Plymouth Dental School

Statement:

I am a glass artist, designing and making architectural glass works for public and private commission as well as for exhibitions.

Transparency, fragility, reflectivity, are just some of the properties of glass that I like to use to interpret my designs; aesthetically or metaphorically. Texture and 3-dimensionality are explored through techniques such as acid etching, sandblasting, painting and lamination.

It was the contemplation of old stained glass - masterpieces of craftsmanship and spiritual beauty - that stimulated my curiosity and desires to the point of abandoning my old life and embracing a new career. However, it is the contemporary approach to the craft that, with the aid of new technology, breathes life into new exciting methods and opportunities.
