My work has evolved from a personal passion for discovering “tired” pieces of good quality furniture and accessories to restore, re-paint and transform into items which are revitalised and totally unique, whilst retaining their “used” character.
My objective is to create unique pieces, using pre-owned, locally sourced items. I use a variety of paint techniques within my work and carefully source and select paint for each item.
Inspiration for colour, finish, texture and choice of materials originates from vintage themes and a love of flea markets, gathering well-worn, well-loved pieces.
Vintage-style, second-hand textiles, combined with paint finish techniques, such as wax-distressed and crackle-glazed, help to enhance the “shabby chic” appeal, giving the furniture and accessories their own individual, “used” style.
The nature of my work dictates that pieces are constantly changing and developing, allowing a continuous flow of creativity within my work and enabling me to present fresh, new ideas.
As well as selling transformed furniture and accessories I also receive commissions to revitalise clients’ own much-loved furniture.
