I have painted for many years. I studied at Rochdale College of Art and Corsham College of Art.
I have exhibited and sold work in London and the South West of England. I work in oil on canvas studying English gardens, landscapes and French landscapes. I spend my time between England and France, particularly in the Languedoc region. where I primarily work in the landscapes of that area. It is the uplifting qualities of the interplay between light and colour in these beautiful regions that inspire me. I aim to allow those qualities to create the dynamics within my paintings.
I live in a 15th. Century thatched cottage with an acre of garden situated in the Mendip hills of Somerset. For me, making a garden is about creating a harmony of colour, shape and texture and watching the changing light add another dimension bringing it all to life. My love of gardens and gardening are primarily the focus of my work here in England.
