Jacy Wall's abstract images explore themes around damage and mending, fragmentation and cohesion. She works principally in woven tapestry, as well as being a printmaker and painter. Jacy has a BA Hons in Constructed Textiles (1979), and an MA in Printmaking(2002). . She weaves tapestries mainly to commission, and as well as many private clients has made work for NMB Bank in Amsterdam, and National Grid plc in the UK. She is a member of Somerset Printmakers and 'Fingerprint', exhibiting with both groups widely in the Southwest. She was one of the nine textile artists that made work for 'Footsteps', a national touring exhibition (2004-07) initiated by Walford Mill Craft Centre (www.walfordmillcrafts.co.uk) In 2008 she received a Theo Moorman Trust for Weavers Award to research further the theme of mending. In 2009 she exhibited at the Stroud International Textile Festival, (www.stroudinternationaltextiles.org.uk). A small selection of her paintings can be found at The Art Stable, Child Okeford, Dorset, and she has donated a small tapestry to the Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust 'Art on the Block' charity auction being held in May. This can be viewed online at www.artforlife.nhs.uk .Two of Jacy's paintings will be included in the Dorchester Arts Open 2010 May 29th - June 13th at Dorchester Arts Centre, and her studio will be open during Dorset Artweeks, also May 29th - June 13th (except Mondays and Tuesdays).
