James Lynch grew up in Devizes, Wiltshire and began exhibiting paintings in 1982 with one-man shows in the West Country. He had early success with an Elizabeth Greenshields bursary and prizes from the Royal Academy and the Spectator. During the last 20 years he has almost exclusively exhibited in London. Currently he is represented by Jonathan Cooper, Park Walk Gallery, London. The National Trust have commissioned  several paintings and he illustrated the Wind in the Willows, published by Folio.

In Somerset Art Week 2010 James exhibits landscapes in his garden studio overlooking the Somerset Levels. His wife, Kate, is also exhibiting paintings and drawings.

Only open: 18th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th September 11am - 6pm.
