'Conceiving' from 'The Rhythm of Creativity''
'Foxgloves in the Wood'

My paintings depict  relationship between people and place, telling stories of simple moments, memories and feelings. I describe my style as naive contemporary because my paintings are child-like and innocent yet relevant and meaningful.

My hand painted glass tells the story of the seasons.  I have developed my own style of glass painting guiding the outliner whilst allowing it to fall and create its own shapes. I like to see the brush strokes in the paint and create texture by layering paint. Vividness of colour and depth have become the essence of the charm of my vases.

My journey as an artist started when in my early thirties I knew I needed to buy some paper and paints and start painting. At the time I was suffering from M.E. and had very little physical, mental or emotional energy. I used to see shapes in my head that I knew I needed to express and would feel drawn to use certain colours. I would paint totally by intuition. I knew when the painting was complete and only then would I understand its message. I worked in this way for several months, collecting 12 paintings that became a special part of my healing.  Now I am well my art has become an expression of my passion for life.

My exhibition will include 'The Wonder of Life' (vases), 'The Rhythm of Creativity' (paintings), 'Rhythm of Life' (paintings). I will also be selling small vases, tumblers, wine glasses, outdoor lanterns and 'summer windows' suncatchers.
