Linda completed her HND in Fine Art at Weston College. She studied part-time to fit in with her commitments to running a family business. Art was found accidentally while trying to enroll for a flower arranging course. Originally being interested in water colours and landscapes her focus changed to more abstract art, incorporating textiles. Colour is now a major element in her work. Her colour relationships rely to a great extent on accident. The decision as to whether they work or not being largely intuitive and this is accomplished by achieving an over balance or harmony within the compositions. The process of creating for her is as important as the realisation of an art work and she needs the challenge and intensity of experimentation. The beginning and the end of an art work is usually about colour. It is the colour that ultimately pulls the composition together, the final balancing act that links the different elements of form, mark and space into one harmonious whole.
