My work as a public artist is about site, how I respond to that site and how the user uses that site, key elements within the work are light onto the work, absorbed by the work or through the work, texture is important as is the rythym of the piece. In Exeter a large 6.5 metre high stainless steel sculpture was opened in March 2005 based on the Exeter riddles. The 10th centrury riddles translated by Kevin Crossley Holland are written in mirror writing and then read in the reflection, the answer to the riddles are on the stainless steel spheres. The 'geoneedle' is 5metre high stone with a stainless steel cap marker for the UNESCO world heritage site the East Devon and Dorset Coastal Path. The geoneedle is sited at Orcombe point near Exmouth.
