Trevor Jordan works in oils. His paintings are a mixture of contemporary abstract, animals and people combining creativity with impact and detail. Trevor is inspired by beautiful creatures and the wonderful West Somerset environment. Observations of colour and shape in his contemporary work are often drawn from a long personal history in engineering, travel and music.
Trevor’s studio is located in the beautiful village of Bicknoller at the foot of the Quantock Hills, in the county of Somerset.
Trevor’s works are oil on canvas, originals are for sale as well as prints both mounted and framed.
Trevor Jordan was born in Essex and comes from a strong artistic family including on his mothers side, Grandfather - Adulphus Burcombe - who was a renowned stained glass artisan and whose work came under the White Friars Glass trade name. Examples of his work can still be seen in The House of Lords, The Guild Hall in London and in Liverpool Cathedral. His fathers side of the family includes ancestral links back to John Millais.
Trevor has spent much of his career as a designer both technical and architectural. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and was twice presented with prestigious Technical Achievement Awards by Ford Motor Company in 1990 and 1996. He has travelled extensively, lived in Europe for a year and the USA for fifteen years. Since returning to England in late 2006, he has drawn on his rich experience and knowledge to put his creative skills into practice by opening his art studio in the beautiful Quantock Hills location of Bicknoller, Somerset.
