Black Swan Art: HapticArt & Kitty Hillier

Venue number:
104
Somerset Art Weeks:
2010

HapticArt are an exhibiting group of Textile Artists who met at East Berkshire College, Windsor while studying for the HE Diploma of Stitched Textiles 2004-2007 with Jan Beaney, Jean Littlejohn and Louise Baldwin.

Their membership is drawn from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Their work is varied - they have no house style, preferring to explore their individual interests, leading to some highly individual exciting and innovative creations.

The textile artists will display their process through a series of free demonstrations in Gallery One.

We also offer an opportunity to local craft groups to come and sit in the gallery, knit, sew, embroider, show what they have been doing and how they do it and above all ...share.

Gallery Two - Kitty Hillier - Winner of the Reveal Emerging Artist Award 2010. 4th September - 9th October 2010.

Since graduating in 2007, Kitty has continued to develop her contemporary works on wood. Kitty received the Reveal Emerging Artist Award in 2009 and has developed a series of new works. Alongside her paintings, she hopes to give the viewer more of an insight into the process by including a number of drawings and prints.

There will also be a photography exhibition by Somerset based photographer Charlie Thomas which documents Kitty Hillier's work process, and an exhibition by Ciara Nolan of local Frome artists at work in their studios.
