Hut 27, Jon England and Edward Milligan

Venue number:
11
Somerset Art Weeks:
2010

Two artists separated by over 60 years produce divergent responses to Ted's time as a prisoner of Nazi Germany.

Ted, a consummate draughtsman and printmaker shows new work, alongside paintings and drawings produced while a POW, some first displayed during an exhibition at Stalag Luft VII, Bankau, Silesia, Christmas 1944.

Jon England's work is characterised by his often poignant use of unexpected materials.  The Central St Martin's Alumnus and recipient of the 2008 'Reveal Emerging Artist Award' will make new work in response to Ted's war diary, artworks and conversation.
