I reflect the Somerset landscape in my paintings which have initially been painted 'en plain air'.  These are then altered, back in my studio, where I simplify forms and produce a more heightened palette of colours.  My watercolours are mostly created by tearing up paintings executed outdoors.  These 'tear ups' are re-assembled as a collage in a larger format and worked again.
