‘Safe Routes’ - encourages sustainable and safe ways to travel to school through visual arts. In 2008 we saw the return of this successful arts project to Highbridge and Burnham.
The project explores responses, both the rational and emotional, to the journey to and from school, particularly at the time of transition from primary to secondary school level. Through a variety of visual art techniques young people recorded their responses to travel and expectations of the changes they might encounter.
The exhibition showcases the work from this project in the local community.
‘Safe Routes’ Project partners include SPAEDA, SCC Safe Routes team, Avon and Somerset Community Support Police and Children and Young Peoples Partnership.
